It's hard to believe that it's been 4 years since Philip, Craig and Mel became the proud new owners of Bistro Tournesol. It has been a wonderful and successful time for us, including our triumph of capturing 3 STARS recently from Toronto Life Magazine! But we could not have pulled it off without the continued patronage and friendship of our wonderful customers....all of our long-time regulars, Tarragon Theatre patrons and all the new friends we have made since we bought the restaurant. It is very exciting for us to be a vital part of our ever-changing North Annex neighbourhood. New upscale businesses continue to choose this area to call home including the delicious pastry shop "Frangipane", and elegant home decor showroom "South Hill Home"   www.southhillhome.com  .

Bistro Tournesol, now celebrating it's 15th anniversary, was originally opened by Yves Robert and Martha VanReet in 1993 after selling their successful restaurant on Prince Arthur Street, "Yves Bistro".  Long-time employees Mel Bryan, Philip Lewicki and Craig Lockhart purchased the business from Yves & Martha in May 2004. Returning customers to The Bistro will immediately notice our recent renovations..... A subtely altered colour scheme featuring warm chocolate browns and sophisticated taupes, lively vintage French advertising posters, a beautifully re-upholstered banquette and more comfortable padded Italian ladder-back dining chairs. We are sure you will love our new look, which customers have variously described as "urban", "chic" and "warmly contemporary". We continue to offer our popular Prix-Fixe menu including a bowl of our delicious frites with every main course. Our wine list is constantly evolving and expanding....we now offer  over 80 selections as well as 4 daily offerings on our "Whiteboard"!

Our restaurant, which is conveniently located minutes from the 'Dupont' subway station and right around the corner from Toronto's famous Tarragon Theatre,  features friendly, personal service and fresh, imaginatively-prepared cuisine in a casual, comfortable, intimate setting. Lots of warm wood and exposed brick,  framed prints, mirrors and fresh flowers provide a perfect backdrop for your evening out.

Our dining room seats approximately 30 people and is designated 'NON-SMOKING'.

PLEASE NOTE THAT EFFECTIVE NOVEMBER 1, 2007 WE WILL NO LONGER BE OPEN ON SUNDAY EVENING....WE WILL BE OPEN TUESDAY THRU SATURDAY EVENINGS ONLY.
